My Mary Jane blisters me up.
It does. I am still clueless though, about what I should do to overcome it. I am not gonna let a pair of shoes that cost me what i could pay for all my shoes in the storeroom, to just wither and go to waste. Yeah, that much. It has got to fulfill its end of the bargain man. This ain't fair! I was already planning to wear them for the wedding this Sunday. Pfffrrt. So you gotta behave and start cooperating.
It's funny how things usually turn out the way I'd least expect it to be. There exist this very innate equilibrium in life, really. When the pages of our lives are crinkled up, and we've attempted to straighten it out, and it's successfully uncrinkled, another page would crease up. That's just a fact of life. What we, mere mortals can do is to seriously bask in the good, uncrinkled times and fully soak ourselves in that temporary period of almost heavenly bliss. Coz ultimately, that moment, is about as close as you'd get to embracing happiness. That fleeting moment of ignorance, of hope, of complete dependence in that one thing everyone else slogs for. Evanescent indeed. It's something one would down shots after shots of tequila just so he could reach that level of satiation. It's something that keeps those crack addicts hanging on to. It's something the greedy will never have. It's something intangible. Something we cannot keep or stretch or even pull till it extends beyond its contracted duration. Happiness expires and we need to accept that.
Now now, you don't have to sigh in despair just yet. Fret not, there's always a consolation. It may expire and retreat to its unknown dormitory, but those newly creased pages, they will transpire more of these momentary happiness. Yes, that's what they are, momentary bliss.
A temporary tourniquet to our bloody existence.
If we could just learn to see things that way and realise that the little bit of grace thats drizzled upon us is really enough for our mortal upkeep... then death and any cowardly alternative out of this brutal world wouldn't be in our contemplation. We are all in the same boat, suck it up sistas.
