All in a day's work.
I got all my tutorial slots. Heh. Some i like, others i dont, but happy i am, now. Yes, my Thursdays are free. hehe. School was alright. Finally, for once i actually understood the lecture. Ha!
In the train is where you get the most exotic species of human beings. This is especially so in singapore. You get the i'm-staring-at-the-window-not-you kinda people, the everyone-stinks-but-me, the scrutinisers, the i-hate-you-coz-you-have-a-seat-and-i-dont, the i-love-making-out-in-trains kinda people... you know what, the list goes on babe.
I'm-staring-at-the-window
These are the kinds who would look straight at you without batting an eye. They wont shift their eyes away even when you have caught them staring at you. Bloody hell. They make you feel like you've done something wrong instead. But really, its not you, its THEM! Remedy? Well, you can try winking at them. It usually works. Or you can take the more subtle aproach, smile. They'd just look away. Ha!
Everyone-stinks-but-me
This one genre of irritants can be quite mortifying if you are the kind who is sensitive to your environment. They are pretty fond of pinching their noses or even slapping the back of their palm to their flaring nostrils. When dealing with them, you gotta overpower whatever it is that they are sniffing. One way, is to dish out your most exquisite Samoa flacon and shoot the nozzle rite where his/hers is at. A bottle of axe oil would be a good substitute, better still spray on a tad of pepper spray. That should be enough to constrict the nasal flow and voila, no more 'bad' smell. An alternative would be to exact the if-u-cant-beat-them-join-them strategy. Yeah, you too pinch your nose, rather unglamourously and look at them straight in the eye, and then shake your head. Chances are, they would unpinch their noses and leave. Heh, signs of a defeat.
I-hate-you-cause-you-have-a-seat-and-i-dont
This one, well, you can just ignore them, or hope the train jerks soo hard they lose their balance and fall. I hate them. Whats bad about them is they'd look you in the eye, grope around for your conscience and awaken it. Especially true when there happen to be old coots without a seat. Asses.
I-love-making-out-in-the-train
Blargh, need i say more? Deprived! Or perhaps the mere thought of being fodder to voyeurs excite them. Remedy? Not much. But, you can close your eyes and meditate. I do that, you should too.
Today, i was seated next to a lady who is relatively old and i think she loves to sing chinese songs. Coz she had stacks of music scores stashed in her huge Sogo bag and the entire time she was there, i saw her copying lyrics off the scores, so semangat. Yeah, but the deal here is, her HUGE and i mean huge sogo back was leaned against my shin. You know if i moved my feet, her entire bag would fall over. Well, wanting to be a selfless individual, i allowed my feet to be the pillar of support. Personally, i wouldn't be that oblivious to my surrounding...to the extent of not realising my bag is actually loading onto someone elses leg. Blaergh, my nerves couldnt take the foreign load no more, so i poked her on her shoulder and told her, her bag was toppling over. Only then did she took her eyes off her lyrics and repositioned her back. "Oh sollie hor, sollie..." Heh, its ok auntie. At least this wasnt a terrible experience. I've heard of worse incidents on trains.
Maybe its the speed of the train that churns out the worse in people. Or perhaps the condensed air of the tunnels could meddle with peoples head and reaction. Right, whatever the reason is, rides in trains here are always something to look forward to. Drama people, its the drama.
