Dominant south asian roots.

Our day started at Bugis, where we took a long walk to our very own Little India.

As usual, you should know by now how reliant we are, on the public transport. Well on the train there was this bunch of young punjabi kids. Clad in mini turbans and all. They looked so damn adorable. And the tiniest of the three boys looked so much like the one in Kuch kuch hota hai. You know, the one that pretended to be dumb but wasn't, the who supposedly could play the violin everytime Shah Rukh decided it was time to dance. Yeah that one. I couldn't help but wonder if he would dance and sing for me like he supposedly did in the movie should i ask him to. Hehe. I like the punjabis in Singapore. I like the fact that despite all the modern-ness that seems to penetrate through the different layers of society, they are still able to hold on tight to their customs. Parents sent their kids to punjabi schools where they meet other kids like themselves. How can you ever stray away from traditions with a lifestyle like theirs? They have a solid identity they can call their own. Very much unlike those chinese kids who mistook themselves for descendants of General Yamashita, hence the Jap ensemble. And those malay kids whose constant hallucinations led them to believe that Guthrum was their leader. Need i point out those hideous make-believe eye make-up? Don't think so. The indian kids are increasingly driven to think that they are P-diddy's sidekick, and whats with the man u jerseys? Nevermind. Basically these are some of the common scenes i see amongst the youth of the nation. Guess we all have our ups and downs.

Ok, back to what i was saying...

All through the journey, i was seated next to this whore! That old lady and her hubby, ahhhh...they just rub me the wrong way man. She bites her nails and blatantly spits it out, rite there...Flying pieces of nails, flapping hands and a bad case of halitosis. People, thats what i had to put up for the entire 30 minutes. If it weren't for my cancerian patience, i would have back-handed her!

Thereafter, we stopped by the Church of Our Lady Lourdes. I love the neo-gothic architecture of the building. It was refreshing, considering the boring buildings it was surrounded by. I could somehow relate to this place. Perhaps its that whole indian-portuguese paternal connection. Whatever it is, i couldnt careless to venture on. Too bad, this time there was no sightings of any devine specimens whatsoever. Well, my parents wasted no time at all, they scurried in just to capture pictures of themselves. I on the other hand, felt it was blasphemous of me, a born muslim to be in the premise of the church. Well, you could say, i respect the place and feel that i'm in no position to be there. Heh, so i stayed outside.

--My sis and i were OUTSIDE, ok.

Following that, it was a long walk to Little India. Boring and nothing much was new about it.
Devoid of any devine beings, i practically dragged myself around. We shopped for groceries at the Mustafa center and i couldnt help but compare it with the Mustafe I know of. Hehe, he beat it hands down.

--Just so you know, this is the man who gave me a huge ass!

--Some of the things that we buy, though we have no use for it. Yeah. Think you know why? Hehe.

Nonetheless... It was an alright day. Im in no position to bitch am i? People are having a bad ass time at other parts of the world, i should therefore just shut up and thank god i dont have to hunt and kill for my every meal.

By the way, Gong Xi Fa Cai to all celebrating it. Don't drink or drive. Coz i dont!
